Lafarge has now 163 cement and grinding mills in 46 countries, and now commands leadership in global cement production. Lafarge now has 45,481 employees and produces about 175 million tons of cement. Accounting for the 48% of the Group's sales, cement is therefore drawing major attention as the company's single largest business. Its global cement production capacity has doubled over the past 11 years and is still growing rapidly. |

Lafarge produces all forms of cement to meet the varied needs of the construction industry. Special cements such as silica fume, white, oil-well, pozzolan and slag, road surfacing materials as well as limes and hydraulic binders are part of the wide range of Lafarge cement.
